AAHS Class of '66 member Dale Leslie's father Richard passed away

AAHS Class of '66 member Dale Leslie's father Richard Leslie co-founder of Leslie Office Supply in Ann Arbor passed away October 3, 2009 at Clare Bridge residence in Ann Arbor at the age of 92.

He was born on August 21, 1917 in Superior Twp, Washtenaw Co, MI, the son of Clinton J. and Mary Leola (Quackenbush) Leslie. He attended Michigan State University.

On August 25, 1940, he married Grace Lucretia Patrick, who passed away on August 28, 1998. Richard was an active,Charter Member (1959) and former officer of the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Western and WWII U.S. Army Veteran. To the glory of the Almighty, he is a faithful servant of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, and frequently attended his childhood church the Dixboro United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his son, Dale Richard Leslie (AAHS Class of '66)and his wife Linda Sue Leslie of Ann Arbor; their sons, Dr. Drew Clifton of Columbia, MO and Graham Tyson, U.S. Navy, Portsmouth, VA; a brother, John Gary Snedeker of Dixboro; numerous close nieces and nephews including our class member DOn Reiff. He was predeceased by his parents and his spouse, a son, Patrick Dennis Leslie, shortly after birth, in 1947; a sister,Dorothy Leola Reiff (mother of our class member Don Reiff) , in 2006; and a brother, Clinton Neil Leslie, in 1999.

A Memorial Service was held Sunday, October 18 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1500 Scio Church Road, Ann Arbor, where the family received visitors before the service. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Glacier Hills Retirement Community, Westminster Presbyterian Church or the Richard & Grace Leslie Scholarship Fund c/o the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation.
