Welcome to Slauson!

This used to be called 'The Tar Hill', in the 50's kids would ride down 'The Tar Hill' in wagons & scooters, if we fell, got bloody, went home. In the 1980's, they made it into stairs with railings, so no one can have fun.

This is Slauson from 8th street. The new pool is on the left, the new addition is in the center (right behind the "AA School Outhouse), they carved out Mount Slauson then stuck in this new part. The picture was taken over the new fence on 8th, kids since the '40's had dug a hole under the fence. In the 80's they tried and tried to keep the kids from digging, finally they just put up a new fence. Kids don't dig anymore, their parents drive them to Junior high, you should see all the SUV's in front of Slauson on a chilly day.

Yea! The Big Hill. They haven't really screwed this up too much. The City of Ann Arbor did put in a sidewalk at the top of the hill, now you can't get a running start to sled down.
